The role of a system integrator includes consultation services as well. Many factories cannot identify the reasons why the productivity of a given asset is not as high as it should be. The solution to productivity issues may involve line studies to determine interaction issues between the operators and the machines as well as software packages that effectively monitor the operation of the machine to determine efficiency issues and provide preventative maintenance data to ensure the machinery operates at full capacity.
A factory may only function as well as the operators understand the process. This statement may mean a single machine in a line or the factory as a whole. By analyzing the performance of the factory often times we can recommend improvements to the visualization of the process to allow the operators to easily understand the process and its interactions
